6th Message - [Accidental Audio Post]
[The device starts broadcasting in a middle of a conversation, although only Dulcie's voice can be heard-]
No, it started a while ago, but I wasn't really paying attention to it.
[pause]
Well it wasn't the most important thing that was happening at the time! There were rampaging carousel animals!
[more pause]
Well I could fly with it, before. Now it's...
[A sound of rustling feathers, and the familiar flap as Dulcie opens her wings. Then a hiss of pain.]
I can't even open that one fully anymore.
[pause]
Well it's not exactly the human part of me, is it? I don't know if anyone would be able to do anything.
[Dulcie pauses again, sniffling.]
It's kind of a 'physicians, heal thy selves' thing. Or whatever the opposite of that is.
[When Dulcie pauses this time, there is anther rustle of wings as she settles back in her chair.]
I'm always fine. You know me.
[Dulcie's device clicks off]
[ooc: Dulcie is experiencing phantom pains of being shot twice in her wing. Ouch! Also, I have no clue who she's talking to on the phone, so if you know her character, feel free to make it you! :-D]

Not broken, just...
[There is another ruffle of feather's as Dulcie tries to open her wing again, only to stop with a hiss of pain.]
My left wing. It started... hurting.

[Dulcie reaches for her wing, wincing as she inspects the source of the pain. One of the bullets had just grazed her, so all she feels there is a dull, persistent ache. But the other had embedded itself right in her joint. The pain there is a bright, hot stab that runs up and down her wing. She was working through it before, pushing the pain to the back of her mind. Almost in retaliation, it has made itself much harder to ignore.]
I wish it was real. Real pain, I can deal with. This... it isn't happening. There is nothing to fix or heal. It just hurts.

But I'm going to have to walk. This is ridiculous.

What the heck, I'll risk it.
[Dulcie lands with a thud on Nathan's bend. She manages to control her appearance well enough that she doesn't land on her injured wing, but her other one ends up crumpled underneath her, shedding a few feathers on the bedspread. She lets out a long hiss, clutching at her injured joint until the pain subsides.]
Okay, bad idea.

You know, you could've just asked me to come to you if you think walking's that bad. You all right?
no subject
[Dulcie rolls over onto her front so that she's mostly splayed out over Nathan's lap.]
I'm alright. I always am.

[He takes position as an excuse to run his hand through the feathers on her ghost-pained wing. He's kind of assuming it's the other one that hurts, since that's the one she fell on.]
Sure. You know adding on "I always am" is pretty much the equivalent of putting up a sign that says "I'm lying" in big, flashing letters?

[Dulcie's wing twitches at the intruding fingers, then settles, the feathers rustling slightly. The pain is still sharp along her wing, but at least Nathan is doing a valiant job of distracting her.]
I don't lie.

[Nathan continues to play with the feathers, rolling his eyes.]
Right. Because you're such a shining example of how pure and holy an angel can be.
no subject
[Dulcie sighs contently and curls further down into Nathan's lap.]
That feels nice. Do have some other secret angel lover you've been practicing on?

Can you imagine sleeping with two angels?

Oh, we would end you, pathetic human.
[She giggles and crawls up the bed to flop across Nathan properly.]
no subject
He lies down properly as she crawls up the bed, keeping his arms around her.]
Hey, don't call me pathetic. You'll hurt my delicate sense of pride.
